the Adirondacks:
Teddy Roosevelt Bird Walks
During the fall of 2012, Adirondack Birding Center Director Brian McAllister is leading a series of bird walks at the Paul Smiths VIC. Participants search for fall migrants moving through the Adirondacks to their wintering areas further south and get a look at some of the same birds identified by a young Teddy Roosevelt when he visited Paul Smiths in the 1870s. Birders meet at the VIC building at 8:30 AM on selected Wednesdays and Saturdays in September and selected Saturdays in October and November. $20/person. For more information, call the Paul Smith's College VIC at (518) 327-6241.
