Highlights of the walk included some excellent views of a Belted Kingfisher hovering like a hummingbird over Heron Marsh, then repeatedly diving for fish. His hunting efforts were interrupted by a Merlin, which went after him. We also got a glimpse of the Great Blue Heron on Heron Marsh and good views of a Pileated Woodpecker on the Jenkins Mountain Trail.
