The Paul Smith's College VIC hosted a series of bird walks led by Adirondack Birding Center Director Brian McAllister. Participants were challenged to see and hear many of the bird species identified by a young Teddy Roosevelt in his research while visiting Paul Smiths in the 1870s. Birders met at the VIC at 8:00 AM on the following dates:

Individual sessions cost $20 per person. A season pass was available for $100. Gift certificates were also available. Detailed trip reports from selected bird walks are provided below:

Explore the Trails

The VIC trails are free and open to the public, from dawn to dusk, spring through fall. In winter, the trails are open to cross-country skiers and snowshoers for a fee. Day or season passes may be purchased.
