Birding the Adirondacks:
Teddy Roosevelt Bird Walk

Adirondack Birding Center Director Brian McAllister led a bird walk on the Heron Marsh Trail, the Silviculture Trail, and the Barnum Brook Trail on 8 May 2013. The walk was part of the "TR" Birding Series. The walk began at 9:00 AM, when we met in the VIC building at the Paul Smith's College VIC. It was a warm spring day with plenty of sunshine. We saw or heard a total of 28 birds. Highlights of the walk included numerous first-of-season Black-throated Blue Warblers and many first-of-season Magnolia Warblers.

also observed an increasing number of spring wildflowers and shrubs in bloom, including an unusual yellow mutation of the Purple Trillium on the Heron Marsh Trail:
