Birding the Adirondacks:
Teddy Roosevelt Bird Walk

Adirondack Birding Center Director Brian McAllister led a bird walk on the Boreal Life Trail and the Barnum Brook Trail on 4 May 2013. The walk was part of the "TR" Birding Series. The walk began at 9:00 AM, when we met in the VIC building at the Paul Smith's College VIC. It was a warm spring day with plenty of sunshine. We saw or heard a total of 30 birds. Highlights of the walk included some excellent views of several Palm Warblers on Barnum Bog and a glimpse of a Black-backed Woodpecker from the board walk on the Boreal Life Trail. We also saw a first-of-season Black-throated Green Warbler and a first-of-season Nashville Warbler.
