On 28 July, VIC naturalist Diane Minutilli led a nature walk on the Boreal Life Trail, examining the plant life on an Adirondack bog, which is one of several different types of Adirondack wetlands. We discussed the definition of a bog and how it differs from a fen, and examined the following plants, which can be viewed from the boardwalk through Barnum Bog:

Cotton Grass Marsh Cinquefoil
Pitcher Plant Pickerelweed
Grass Pink Yellow Pond Lily
Roundleaf Sundew Whorled Wood Aster
Bladderwort Black Spruce
Tamarack Alder
