Walk

The grand reopening of the Paul Smith's College VIC included a nature walk starting at 9 PM on 25 June. Our outing began with a trip through the Barnum Brook Trail, followed by a walk to the board walk on the Boreal Life Trail. The day was rainy, but we had an hour or so of relatively dry weather at the beginning of our walk, when we could hear the birds.
We heard and/or saw sixteen species of birds:
- Red-eyed Vireo
- Winter Wren
- White-throated Sparrow
- American Robin
- Cedar Waxwing
- Black-throated Green Warbler
- Black-capped Chickadee
- Ovenbird
- Lincoln's Sparrow
- Palm Warbler
- Tree
Swallow
- Chimney Swift
- Nashville Warbler
- Common Loon
- Red-winged Blackbird
- Swamp Sparrow
- Mallard
- American Black Duck
We also identified a large number of plants and wildflowers, including:
