Wildflower Workshop

Join naturalist Frank Lescinsky for an afternoon lecture and walk from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM to learn about and see the late-spring wildflowers growing in the woods and wetlands of the VIC.
- Wetland plants blooming around mid-June at the VIC include Labrador Tea, Sheep Laurel, Blue Flag Iris, Cotton Grass, and Pitcher Plant.
- Mid-June is also a good time to check out the Pink Lady's Slippers, which are especially striking on the north side of the Barnum Brook Trail.
- Other upland plants blooming at this time include Indian Cucumber-root, Clintonia, Wild Raisin, Bunchberry, Twinflower, and Spreading Dogbane.
Cost: $20, $15 for Friends of the VIC. Please preregister by 5:00 PM the day before.
