On 4 July 2015, Adirondack Birding Center Director Brian McAllister led a bird walk which took us to the Heron Marsh Trail tower, the VIC parking lot, the Logger's Loop Trail, and the Boreal Life Trail. The walk was part of the "TR" Birding Series. The walk began at 9:00 AM, when we met in the VIC building at the Paul Smith's College VIC. It was a cool, cloudy morning, with periodic rain showers. We saw or heard a total of 32 bird species. eBird Checklist

Highlights of the walk included some excellent views of a Swamp Sparrow from the tower on the Heron Marsh Trail. We also saw a muskrat from the tower. We then had some nice views of a Yellow-rumped Warbler, Red-eyed Vireo, Eastern Phoebe, Blue-headed Vireo, and Northern Parula on the VIC parking lot – always a birding hot spot.
