Birds of the Adirondacks: Purple Finch near the VIC building, Common Merganser on Heron Marsh, Yellow-rumped Warbler near Monarch Meadow Birds of the Adirondacks: Purple Finch, Common Merganser, and Yellow-rumped Warbler at the Paul Smiths VIC

Join Adirondack Birding Center Director Brian McAllister from 9:00 AM to noon for a training session on Adirondack birds. Mid-May is a time when we will see more and more migrants arriving and claiming their territory. During this training, we will brush up on identifying birds and search for good looks and listens out in this special boreal habitat.

Explore the Trails

The VIC trails are free and open to the public, from dawn to dusk, spring through fall. In winter, the trails are open to cross-country skiers and snowshoers for a fee. Day or season passes may be purchased.
