"Sap to Syrup" Maple Workshop

Work with Paul Smith's VIC sugar makers to experience all aspects of the syrup making process.  The class is hands on. Participants will learn collection methods, tapping, processing, grading, other uses of syrup. They will also learn how to get involved in the VIC's community maple program. The program is part of the New York Maple Weekend. $20 per person. Preregistration required. Limited to 10 participants per session.

This class is part of the VIC's Maple Sugaring Program. The Paul Smith’s College VIC is collaborating with Cornell Maple to expand maple syrup and sugaring opportunities in the region.  The goals of the project are to train local producers, promote further growth in the industry, and provide maple syrup production information and education opportunities for the general public.

Explore the Trails

The VIC trails are free and open to the public, from dawn to dusk, spring through fall. In winter, the trails are open to cross-country skiers and snowshoers for a fee. Day or season passes may be purchased.
