Smallmouth BassJoin VIC Naturalist Intern Nate Casaregola from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM to learn the basics of fishing.  Come along with Nate to learn the basics of spin casting from shore, lure selection by species, and fish handling for catch and release. A New York State fishing license is required for participants over the age of 16. 

We will meet at the VIC building at 1:00 PM. The fishing is going to take place on Lower Saint Regis Lake (about a mile from the VIC). The main species we expect to catch are largemouth and smallmouth bass, as well as yellow perch. 

The cost is $20 per person for adults. $25 for a parent and a child. Friends of the VIC save $5.  Preregistration required by 5:00 PM the day before.

Explore the Trails

The VIC trails are free and open to the public, from dawn to dusk, spring through fall. In winter, the trails are open to cross-country skiers and snowshoers for a fee. Day or season passes may be purchased.
