Let's Go Fishing
27 June 2015
1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Join VIC Naturalist Intern Nate Casaregola from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM to learn the basics of fishing. The weekend of June 27-28 is Free Fishing Weekend. New York State is offering people an opportunity to go fishing without purchasing a license. During the last weekend in June, anyone can fish the fresh or marine waters of New York State; and no license is required! Come along with Nate to learn the basics of spin casting from shore, lure selection by species, and fish handling for catch and release.
We will meet at the VIC building at 1:00 PM. The fishing is going to take place on Lower Saint Regis Lake (about a mile from the VIC). The main species we expect to catch are largemouth and smallmouth bass, as well as yellow perch.
The cost is $20 per person for adults. $25 for a parent and a child. Friends of the VIC save $5. Preregistration required by 5:00 PM the day before.
