Introduction to Maple Sugaring

Photo used by permission.Come on over to the VIC and learn about modern methods of designing, installing, and maintaining a sugar bush for bucket, bag, or tubing sap collection.  “Backyard tapping” and the VIC’s community-based maple program will also be addressed.  The program runs from 9:00 to 11:00 AM.

This session is part of the VIC's Maple Sugaring Program. The Paul Smith’s College VIC is collaborating with Cornell Maple to expand maple syrup and sugaring opportunities in the region.  The goals of the project are to train local producers, promote further growth in the industry, and provide maple syrup production information and education opportunities for the general public.

Explore the Trails

The VIC trails are free and open to the public, from dawn to dusk, spring through fall. In winter, the trails are open to cross-country skiers and snowshoers for a fee. Day or season passes may be purchased.
