New Moon Art Show: Tim Fortune & Burdette Parks

Artist Tim Fortune and photographer Burdette Parks will exhibit their work in the Great Room at the Paul Smith's College VIC.

Artist Tim Fortune was born and raised in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains of northern New York. He studied art at Tyler School of Art of Temple University, where he received a BFA. He later graduated from New York University with a Master of Arts degree in Studio Art and subsequently studied in Italy for several years. For the past thirty years, he has pursued his career in Florida and New York. He has a passion for a dramatic "inner light" and unique richness of color, which is readily apparent in his works. His latest project is a gigantic painting on William Morris Park's basketball court in Saranac Lake. He plans to transport visitors into a clear Adirondack pond, complete with rocks, fish, plants and animals. 

Photographer Burdette Parks was born and educated in North Dakota, receiving a BA in Theater Arts from the University of North Dakota. He developed an early interest in photography through his father, an inveterate and prolific family picture taker. During more than two decades directing and producing live theater, he incorporated photography—doing publicity and production photography for his own and other theaters. He has lived in the Adirondacks since 1990, operating RoundLake Studios with his wife, Fran Yardley. He currently specializes in fine art landscape/nature work. His photographs reveal his fascination with the textures, form, and surface of objects found in nature.

The exhibit will hang from 14 August through 12 September 2015. Free admission.
