Behind the Scenes in Antarctica: Lecture by Mary Brown

Mary Brown will provide a presentation in the VIC theater from 7:00 to 8:30 PM on her journey to Antarctica. The cost is $5.

Ms Brown, who grew up in Michigan and later served eight years as director of the Clinton Essex Franklin Library System, became fascinated with polar exploration when she was in elementary school. After retirement, she fulfilled a lifelong dream when she signed up to spend five months working at a field camp -- Siple Dome in Antarctica. While there, she served as a meteorologist technician, helped run a small airport, was camp medic, and prepared manifests for hazardous cargo.
