On 6 July, botanist and Paul Smith's College professor Daun Reuter will lead a walk along the Boreal Life Trail to examine the orchids and other wildflowers that make the Adirondacks their home. Orchids that bloom in Barnum Bog at this time usually include Rose Pogonia, Grass Pink, and White-fringed Orchid.

The walk begins at 10 AM and will last about two hours. $10 for Friends of the VIC. $20 for nonmembers.

The VIC trails are free and open to the public, from dawn to dusk, spring through fall. In winter, the trails are open to cross-country skiers and snowshoers for a fee. Day or season passes may be purchased.
