Adirondack Loon Celebration

Join us at the Paul Smith's College VIC for a celebration of the Common Loon! The day will be a family-friendly event, with activities for both adults and kids, as well as a fund raiser for both BRI’s Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation and the Paul Smiths VIC. This is an opportunity to learn about loon natural history, conservation concerns affecting their populations, and ongoing loon research and conservation efforts in the Adirondack Park. Free admission. Donations accepted.
Adirondack Loon Celebration Schedule
The day will include:
- Field trip to a local pond to learn about loon behavior and see loons close up
- Loon-related kids' activities, including a scavenger hunt, crafts, face painting, Merriloons the Clown, and more!
- Presentation and display on Adirondack loon research and conservation
- Delicious hearty lunch by Fruitful Seasons Catering
- Music by Adirondack singer/songwriter Jamie Savage and the Rustic Riders, an Adirondack-based acoustic group
- Yodeling/Loon Calling Contest with a panel of loon experts as judges
- Loon quilt raffle – a homemade fabulous queen-sized quilt depicting an Adirondack loon family
- Silent auction of intriguing loon-related items
- Reception

BRI's Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation is raffling a beautiful, handmade, queen-size quilt depicting a Common Loon family.
