Birds of the Adirondacks:  Hermit Thrush near the VIC parking lot (22 April 2013); Common Merganser near the Black Pond Trail trailhead (23 April 2013); Song Sparrow near the Black Pond Trail trailhead (23 April 2013)

On April 27th, the Paul Smith's College VIC is hosting a birdathon fundraiser to help raise money for members the Paul Smith's College student chapter of the Wildlife Society to attend the Wildlife Conference in Milwaukee. With only a $5 entry fee, participants can bird the VIC and Paul Smith's campus all day to try to see the most birds. There will be a first, second, and third prize to the top birding participants. Birders register between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM at the VIC to receive a checklist. For more information: mfuirst@s.paulsmiths.edu.

The Paul Smiths VIC offers a wide variety of programs throughout the year to educate and inform Adirondack Park residents and visitors about the natural wonders of the Adirondack Mountains. Explore the Trails

The VIC trails are free and open to the public, from dawn to dusk, spring through fall. In winter, the trails are open to cross-country skiers and snowshoers for a fee. Day or season passes may be purchased.
