This
1.2 mile trail can be accessed from the Barnum Brook Trail or
the Heron Marsh Trail. From the Barnum Brook Trail, the Forest
Ecology Trail winds through hardwood forest, then slopes down
to a 900-foot boardwalk crossing a rich peatland. The path includes
a variety of forest habitats. The walking is easy with a few small
hills.
