Sunday Ski & Music at the VIC:
K & M Ramblers
22 February 2015
Sunday afternoons are for music and fun in the outdoors at the VIC!
The Sunday Ski and Music Series continues Sunday, 22 February, featuring the K & M Ramblers in the Great Room at the VIC from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.
Mark Keating and Don Morris have more than 60 years combined experience in a variety of song styles. They will be featuring genuine Americana music with "a tip of the hat" to early American/bluegrass music.
- Don Morris has many decades of experience with classical guitar, including when he lived for a time in Nashville, TN. Lately, he has found a new love in the roots and branches of down-home Northcounty music, building his foundation of lead guitar work on its steady rhythms. His guitar work is influenced by Tommy Emmanuel, Pierre Besusan, and other greats. All the while, Don keeps his acoustic focus genuine and dedicated to the music we play right around here in the Tri-lakes region of the Adirondacks.
- Mark Keating is a 30+ year veteran on the acoustic guitar and has performed in many venues across New York State. While studying in Buffalo, he was playing as far back as 1980's doing gigs-for-grocery money during college. Mark began to develop his own style of playing which incorporates traditional styling with a flair towards jazzy, country blues style. Mark has been involved with various jam groups and venues here in the Tri-lakes, including the Shamrock, Saranac Lake Art-Walks, The Thursday night Ceilidh, and ongoing collaboration with the rising band Polar Vortex.
The K&M Ramblers are sure to please an audience looking to sit back, relax and tap a foot or two during the performance. Grab your skis, boots, and poles and head to the VIC for a fun afternoon of skiing and music Entry is free with your ski pass.
