Sheri Amsel: Adirondack Nature GuideSpend 90-minutes with author, illustrator, and naturalist, Sheri Amsel, to develop a deeper understanding of birds by drawing them. Sheri will talk briefly about bird habitats, size, beak shape, perching stances, flight patterns, and calls. Then with easy-to-follow directions, you will learn to draw 20 local birds, giving you a new familiarity with the shape and profile of the birds you know. If weather (and drawing time) permits, the class will step outside for a few minutes at the end of class to view some of the birds you learned to draw. Bring your favorite sketchpad and pencils (though there will be paper and pencils available for in class sketching). This class is appropriate for adults and teen birders. (The class is a bit too challenging for children).

Sheri’s books will be available for sale before and after class. You can also order ahead and bring the books to class on June 7th.
